Why is Child pornography increasing????

Child pornography refers to pornography depicting children. The creation, possession and distribution of child pornography are illegal. Since child pornography involves visual depiction of minors engaged in sexual explicit conduct, it records as child abuse and sexual exploitation of child.

The problem of child pornography is rising even though there is strict involvement of law enforcement acts; the problem is increasing mainly through internet. The usage of internet has heightened the issue of child pornography due to the ease of accessibility to the material and the efficiency of its distribution.

. Allows pornography to be accessed anonymously and privately at any time or place

. Facilitates direct communication and image sharing among users

. Provides high digital quality images that can be stored conveniently

. Provides many formats like pictures, videos, sound and the potential for real-time and interactive experiences

. Access to digital images that have been modified to create virtual images (morphing).

The demand for child pornography may not only be for profit , but can have other intentions like:

.Pedophiles use child pornographic images as a medium to communicate with other fellow pedophiles and to increase their volume of collection

. Offenders may use the images of victimized child as a means of gaining status within their world

.Pedophiles use child pornography to stimulate their sexual drive and to feed their sexual fantasies

.Child pornography is stored by the offenders as it reminds them of the experience they had with the child

.They store the images as it reminds them of the experience they had with the child.

.Child pornography is also used to seduce children into having sex. Children are made to feel that is common and fun. This lowers the child’s inhibition for sexual activities

.The images of the victimized child can be used to continue the exploitation and sexual abuse of the child by blackmailing the child that it will be shown to others.
