To download content produced by the distributors or producers in there website with the relevant company’s permission is legal.
But in some of the websites without the permission of the company’s access they have put films and TV episodes there you are being able to see the content that has not yet been shown in the cinemas or broadcast on TV and also the content is being offered to download at a low price which is illegal.
If the downloaded content or any money earned from it is criminal offence
- sell or make available for hire
- for commercial purposes, exhibit to the public or distribute
The criminal penalties for downloading and selling illegally copied content may lead to either:
- Imprisonment for up to six months or a fine not exceeding £5,000; or
- Imprisonment for up to ten years or an unlimited fine.
Even kids can get in trouble online by -Pirating music and software, Libel and defamation, Virus writing, Credit card abuse, Online con games.

- Check for the place where CD is sold like street corners, markets etc.
- CDs, comprised of songs by numerous artists on different record labels are pirated.
- Check for the label for bar code, original name, address of the manufacturer is not shown properly
- Check out name if its unknown name then it may be pirated.
Carefully look over the packaging, inferior quality print on the disc surface or slip sleeve cover, missing label, publisher and distributor logos on discs.
